I just added a new feature to Durham’s premier luxury home blog, a “plugin” called “Share This.” You will now notice that at the bottom of every post and page appears a small icon that looks like a “v” laid on its side. If you are into social networking on the web you can put a link to the post or page on your Facebook page or one of several others that are listed when you click the icon.
If you are not into social networking, what you will probably use more often is the email option which lets you send a link directly from the site to any email address.
If you want to follow the blog regularly you can also bookmark or favorite the site in your browser or subscribe to any number of RSS (Real Simple Syndication) readers. I use Google Reader which is free and easy to configure. From that I follow a number of Durham Blogs, several other Luxury Home blogs and a few general marketing blogs. Updates to all of these sites accumulate in the reader so that you can quickly review them in one place.
I also recently changed the page structure so that the home page is devoted to links to pages devoted to Durham’s key luxury neighborhoods and immediate access to home searches in those neighborhoods through the BestHomePro search engine. This tool gives any visitor to the DurhamLuxRe site access to information on any home in the Triangle Multiple Listing Service (TMLS.) BestHomePro also uses the Share This technology so that you can share information on any of your search results with a couple of clicks.
